It is well-known in West Africa as a fast-growing, innovative leader in expanding beverages including value-added dairy, juices, and iced tea. It produces value-added dairy under the Hollandia brand and juice under the Chivita brand. The Chi company is now primarily owned by The Coca Cola Company.
The acquisition of the Chi company by Coca Cola was announced on January 30, 2019, after the first minority investment was announced in 2016. This acquisition is geared towards accelerating Coca Cola’s expansion into new areas and further growing the African sector of the business. The President of the West Africa business unit of Coca Cola, Peter Njonjo believes that the acquisition will support the Chi Team in building on their notable heritage and achievements.
