Following the success of the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund in the US, Europe, and Brazil, Google is now expanding the program with a $3 million Africa Black Founders Fund. The program will offer grants and other technical assistance to early-stage startups led by diverse teams or with goals of endearing the black community.
This $3 million non-dilutive fund will be spread out across a pipeline of 50 investible African startups where they receive up to 100,000 in cash awards, $220,000 in Google Cloud Credits, Ad Grants, mentoring, technical and scaling assistance. This equity-free fund is available for African entrepreneurs.
The program is run as a partnership with the Co-Creation Hub, one of Google’s startup partners and a lead tech community hub with a presence in Kenya, Nigeria, and Rwanda while distributing the funding to 50 select companies across Africa.
