Twiga foods invests a huge sum of $30M raised from the serie B equity round into food distribution in Kenya. The company is involved in the distribution of fresh and processed food, which are obtained from more than 17,000 producers and distributed to more than 8,000 retailers.

They have a digital platform where food manufacturers and farmers are directly linked to their retailer, thereby creating a convenient and reliable approach to the current inefficient and expensive factory-to-market processes.

Twiga distributes fresh fruits like bananas, potatoes, onions, tomatoes and watermelons. Kenyan manufacturers have tapped into Twiga’s technology-led distribution network, with the company now distributing a fast-growing range of processed food including rice, maize flour, cooking oil, milk, juice, sugar and snacks.
