Start-up K’riane Design from Bamako, Mali, inspires us in this series with exceptional women’s fashion designs using bespoke African wax and noble fabrics. Founder, Rihanne Sarr, talks to us about starting up her fashion business empire with future goals to expand into the accessories business.

 

  1. When was your brand of clothing founded?

My clothing brand, K’riane Design, was founded in July. exactly the 20th of July 2018.

  1. Where is your business located?

My company is in Bamako, Mali, Africa.

 

  1. Do you offer products to men and women?

Currently, I only offer products for women, but later, I would like to supply products for men.

 

  1. Do you ship locally, nationally and internationally?

For now, I operate nationally only but I will not rule out going international in the future.

 

  1. How do you find inspiration for your creations?

Very good question, I aim on modernity, which is important for me, but sometimes using traditional fabrics such as African Wax, or noble fabrics such as silk, lace etc, in fact everything depends on the aesthetics that I want to bring to the outfit.

  1. What motivated you to start this business line?

Fashion has always been a passion. Since I was little, I had this idea in mind, that one day I would have my own brand of clothing.

 

  1. What is your biggest challenge in business today?

My biggest challenge is getting my outfits right in the first place so all women wearing them can be showcased to be known internationally.

 

  1. What is your best advice for dealing with customer complaints?

There will always be complaints in all sectors, even more in the fashion sector. The complaints are not always the same. I would rather say patience and be listening to the clientele is very important. Also trying to maximize customer satisfaction.

 

  1. If you do not mind sharing, do you have any important announcements that you would like to share with our viewers / readers?

With pleasure, what you should know is that K’RIANE DESIGN is not just a brand of clothing. We are also in the field of interior decoration. Although we put more forward fashion, but soon we will try to create our page especially for decoration.

 

  1. What type of training would you recommend for success in this sector?

As I told you so well, I have always been a passion, so creativity and imagination at the fashion level I will always have. I did my own training “LAUGH”. But in all sectors, I first recommend LOVE in what you do, it is already the key to success and why not follow a specific training in the activity where you want to evolve.

Today, we market through the online social networks. I market more at the level of social networks, by doing commercials everywhere on some site.

  1. Who was your biggest inspiration for your business?

My greatest inspiration has been my best friend, who is also evolving in fashion. I wanted to create my brand since, but I always hesitated because I had a fear is not to succeed.   • Expanding Your Network: having a network is important in the business community.
  • Marketing to attract new customers in the field we evolve to effectively communicate our products.

Honestly Rihanna, I’m a fan of this woman since childhood who really has the great sense of style, for me, everything suits her. And besides, she inspires a great fashion designer. She even created her own brand of fashion line. For me, Rihanna is a fashion icon. It would be a dream to have her wear one of my outfits.

Mon entreprise est situé a Bamako, Mali.

 

  1. Proposez-vous des produits aux hommes et aux femmes?

En ce moment, je propose uniquement des produits pour Femmes, mais plus tard,j’aimerais fournir des produits pour Hommes.

 

  1. Livrez-vous localement, nationalement et internationalement?

Pour le moment je livre nationalement vu que c’est tout ressens. Mais pourquoi pas internationalement dans le futur.

 

  1. Comment trouves-tu l’inspiration pour tes créations?

Tres bonne question, je vise sur la Modernité, ce qui est important pour moi, mais en utilisant parfois les tissus  traditionnels comme le WAX,  ou les tissus nobles comme la soie , la dentelle etc.. en fait tout dépend de la vison que je veux apporter a ma tenue.

 

  1. Qu’est-ce qui vous a motivé à démarrer ce secteur d’activité?

La mode a toujours été une passion. Donc depuis toute petite,j’avais cette idée en tête, qu’un jour j’aurais ma propre marque de vêtement.

 

  1. Quel est votre plus grand défi dans les affaires aujourd’hui?

Mon plus grand défis, c’est que mes tenues plaisent d’abord et que toutes les femmes puissent s’y retrouver et être connue internationalement.

 

  1. Quel est votre meilleur conseil pour traiter les plaintes des clients?

Des plaintes y’en aura toujours dans tous les secteurs d’activités, encore plus dans le secteur de la mode. Les corpulences ne sont pas les mêmes. Je dirais plutôt la PATIENCE et être à L’ECOUTE de la clientèle. Essayer au maximum d’obtenir la satisfaction des clients.

 

  1. Si cela ne vous dérange pas de partager, avez-vous des annonces importantes que vous souhaitez partager avec nos téléspectateurs / lecteurs?

Avec plaisir, ce qu’il faut savoir c’est que K’riane Design n’est pas seulement une marque de vêtement. Nous sommes aussi dans le secteur de la décoration d’intérieur. Bien vrai que nous mettions plus en avant la mode, mais d’ici peu on va essayer de créer notre page spécialement pour la décoration.

 

  1. Quel type de formation recommanderiez-vous pour réussir dans ce secteur?

Comme je vous ai si bien dit, moi ça toujours été une passion, donc de la créativité et de l’imagination au niveau de la mode j’en aurai  toujours. J’ai fait ma propre formation “RIRE”.  Mais dans tous les secteurs, je recommande tout d’abord l’amour dans ce que vous faites, c’est déjà la clé de la réussite et pourquoi pas suivre une formation spécifique dans l’activité ou vous souhaitez évoluer.

 

  1. Comment commercialisez-vous votre entreprise?

Aujourd’hui, on a une facilité ce sont les reseaux sociaux. Donc je commercialise plus au niveau des réseaux sociaux, en faisant des publicités un peu partout sur certains site.

 

  1. Qui a été votre plus grande inspiration pour votre entreprise?

Ma plus grande inspiration a été ma meilleure amie, qui évolue aussi au niveau de la mode. je voulais créer ma marque depuis, mais j’hésitais toujours parce que j’avais une crainte, c’est de ne pas réussir.Un jour quand elle est venue en vacance chez moi on en a parler et elle m’a booster à le faire et de là j’ai sauté le pas.

 

  1. Que voudriez-vous savoir avant de démarrer cette entreprise?

Avant de démarrer cette entreprise, j’ai fait tout d’abord:

  • Une etude de marche, ce qui est indispensable dans l’entrepreneuriat
  • Quels tissus utiliser qui pourrait plaire a ma clientele, qui pourrait me convenir aussi
  • Comment faire pour se demarquer des autres marques qui evoluent dans le milieu
  • Les tarifs qui pourront convenir a mes tenues sans aucune exageration

 

  1. Quelles sont selon vous les principales compétences nécessaires pour réussir dans l’entrepreneur?

Pour moi, les principales compétences pour réussir dans l’entrepreneur :

  • Deja l’etude de marche, qui vous permet d’obtenir des informations sur l’industrie dans laquelle votre entreprise évolue.
  • La communication, qui permet d’améliorer vos revenus et d’attirer des clients
  • Agrandir son reseau, avoir un réseau est important dans le milieu de l’entrepreneuriat.
  • Le marketing pour attirer de nouveau clientèle dans le domaine qu’on évolue pour communiquer efficacement nos produits.

  1. Quelle célébrité voudriez-vous porter votre mode?

Franchement Rihanna, je suis fan de cette femme depuis toute petite qui a vraiment le sens du style, pour moi, tout lui va. Et d’ailleurs elle inspire de grand couturier. Elle même a créer sa propre marque de vêtement. Pour moi, Rihanna est une icône mode. Ce serait un rêve de lui faire porter un de mes modèles.
