Haute Baso is an African fashion brand founded by Linda Mukangoga based on a need to showcase Rwanda in the global market while empowering girls who are the significant artisans in the company. The company was established in 2014 with just four female artisans and has since grown to collaborate with 275 artisans, with 202 being female artisans.

Haute Baso

Haute Baso designs are eccentric and straightforward, drawing inspirations from the colourful culture of Rwanda and merging these unique styles with fashion-forward pieces. This merging leads to the creation of timeless clothing that showcases craftsmanship and modern designs.

Haute Baso aims to empower indigenes by investing in producers through vocational training and employment, leading to entrepreneurship. They collaborate with local artisans to create quality “Made in Rwanda” products. Craftsmanship is a thing of import to this company as tradition is preserved, and stories told through their fashion pieces. Interested investors and customers can follow their progress via their Facebook and Twitter pages. This is excellent news for female artisans in Rwanda as Haute Baso gives a place for skilled female artisans.
