The President of the United States Donald Trump announced an $89 million donation via United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to Nigeria.
This is in support of the Development goals outlined in Development Objective Assistance Agreement signed between the USA and Nigeria.
According to a statement made by US Embassy, there is a collaboration between USAID and the Nigerian Ministry of Health, Power, Education, Agriculture and state level government counterpart, Nigerian Ministry of Budget and National Planning and state level government counterpart.
The funding will go into HIV/AIDS control, help with economic growth and agricultural productivity, support good governance, strengthen education and improve water and sanitation.
